It’s hard to choose a single highlight among Vietnam’s numerous stunning landscapes, thriving metropolises, and hospitable locals; the whole nation is a traveler’s dream. That being said, it might be challenging to narrow down the greatest sites to visit in Vietnam to just a select handful.
The fact that Vietnam is a well-liked and frequently visited travel destination is, I think, no secret to anybody who has been there. In any case, if you haven’t seen it yet, you’re missing out big time!
In addition to its overall beauty, Vietnam is also home to a wide variety of exciting urban centres and remote natural wonders. After all, the stark contrast between Vietnam’s massive metropolis and its gorgeous countryside is part of the country’s charm. Even better, it is home to some outstanding landmarks that have been designated as World Heritage Sites by UNESCO.

Listed below are some of the top tourist destinations in Vietnam.
1. Ho Chi Minh City

Ho Chi Minh City, formerly known as Saigon, is currently one of the top tourist destinations in Vietnam. It was renamed after the revolutionary of the same name. To tell the truth, if you’re coming on an international airline, you’ll probably land in either Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City.
Over the years, this massive city has grown to become the nation’s capital and largest city. Popular tourist destinations in modern-day Saigon include the Ben Thanh Market, Independence Palace, the Ch Chi Tunnels, and the Saigon Notre Dame Basilica.
You’ve earned a good meal after all that sight-seeing, so take yourself to “Bun Bo Nam Bo-Ba Ba.” The Myst Dong Khoi is a lovely hotel with a pool and convenient access to the Saigon River.
2. Mekong Delta

In Vietnam’s southernmost section, the Mekong Delta, features the Mekong River, which empties into the East Vietnam Sea. If you’re looking for a more authentic taste of Vietnam, this is one of the greatest cities to visit.
The Mekong River is the focal point of this area, making it a great spot for camping and long-boat excursions.
The Mekong Delta is a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the cities and see a different side of Vietnam.
3. Nha Trang

Nha Trang is just one of several beautiful coastal resorts in Vietnam, which is known for both its rich cultural heritage and its spectacular scenery, including miles upon miles of pristine white sand beaches.
Basically, you never need an excuse to take a vacation, and Nha Trang is one of the greatest spots in Vietnam to do just that. This metropolitan resort is situated on the eastern coast, and it has kilometres of golden beach and picturesque mountains in every direction.
Visit this destination to kick back and soak up some rays, stroll among some palm trees, and have a blast at one of the many amusement parks or water parks. Remember to bring plenty of sunscreen, since the sun in Vietnam is intense.
4. Sapa

Sapa, a mountain hamlet in Vietnam, exemplifies the country’s vastly varying topography. Although coastal cities are low and flat, Sapa in northern Vietnam provides a great vantage point from which to take in the surrounding landscape and the Hoang Lien Son mountain range.
And if you’ve hired (or purchased) a bike for your vacation, it’s one of the greatest spots in Vietnam to visit since you can easily go about on two wheels.
5. Hoi An

Hoi An, an attractive ancient city near Da Nang on Vietnam’s eastern coast, is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Some of the buildings in Hoi An’s historic district date back to the 15th century, and they’ve been kept quite well. Hoi An is the ideal destination for anyone seeking cultural rejuvenation and an authentic glimpse into native life.

6. Hanoi

Hanoi is not Vietnam’s biggest city, but as the capital, it is undeniably the most significant. It’s also really colourful and lively.
Hanoi, Vietnam’s capital city, is situated on the banks of the Red River and has been a major economic hub for the country for over a millennium.
The city is home to several tourist attractions, including the Vietnam Museum of Revolution, the Temple of the Jade Mountain, and Lenin Park. Because of its proximity to a major airport, it is well situated as either the first or last stop on a tour of Vietnam.
You must eat your weight in Bun Cha (pork noodle) soup, spicy Pho (noodle) soup, and Cha Ca (rice vermicelli) salad at one of the many street food markets (fish with noodles). Get ready to leave the markets full, so don’t bother eating before you go.
7. Ha Long Bay

You won’t find a more picturesque or recognisable spot elsewhere in Vietnam. Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site located on Vietnam’s northern coast not far from Hanoi, is a must-see destination for every traveller to the country.
Limestone cliffs rise steeply from the ocean in this natural harbour, and they are crowned with lush vegetation. The combination of the clear blue sea, the golden sand, and the many classic sailing ships makes for a sight straight out of a fairy tale.
Transfers to Ha Long Bay from Hanoi are simple to set up and the trip takes around three hours.
Still, the bus that departs from Hanoi’s downtown is an option if you’re in the mood for an adventure.
8. Dalat

Dalat provides an insight into Vietnam’s history during the French colonial era, which is essential for gaining an understanding of the country. Plus, check out the interesting homes.
For tourists, Dalat, in the scenic highlands of southern Vietnam, is a great place to relax and unwind. Compared to the larger cities of Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi, this picturesque village stands out for its wealth of colonial architecture.
9. My Son

When in Vietnam, you just must make time to explore one of the most significant archaeological sites in all of Southeast Asia. Several Hindu temples, constructed by the Champa Kings, dot the landscape of this historical religious hub in central Vietnam.
As early as the fourth century, these magnificent antique shrines were built, and now, in their exceptional state, they are truly breathtaking to witness. It certainly is one of the nicest destinations in Vietnam to visit, particularly if you enjoy ancient attractions.
10.Hue

Hue, a historical city on the Perfume River, was a power centre for the Nguyen Dynasty.
The city’s vast history makes it an excellent starting point for learning about Vietnam and Southeast Asia’s rich past. There are now about 354,000 people living in the city, and many of its historic buildings and traditions have been preserved.
Don’t leave without seeing the Royal Tomb of Khai Dinh King and the Imperial City’s Thien Mu Pagoda. Thái Ha Palace is a must-see, so don’t leave town without seeing it. stunning beauty.
